Math 1, 5th Edition from BJU Press, aims to establish a foundational number sense to use in applying mathematical concepts, skills, and reasoning to solve real-world problems within the context of a biblical worldview. Your child will learn to solve addition and subtraction problems, tell time using digital and analog clocks, determine length and weight, and more! They will also apply biblical worldview themes of exploring, working, and caring to solve real-life problems using mathematics. The Math 1 Subject Kit contains all the necessary materials for teaching Math 1.
Math 1 empowers you to carefully lead your child through lesson content. As the teacher, you will deliver content through direct instruction as well as through modeling, demonstrations, and visual analysis. You can also lead discussions using manipulatives, object lessons, and colorful pictures.
Each lesson includes opportunities for your child to practice what they’ve learned under guidance before practicing independently. Word problems and collaborative STEM activities will enable your child to connect the mathematical principles they are learning with problems people experience on a day-to-day basis.

The Math 1 Visuals contains colorful 12 ¼” x 17 ¾” teaching charts to use when teaching lessons and for classroom display.
Student Manipulatives Packet provides geometric shapes, fractional pieces, and play money to enhance student understanding of lesson concepts. The packet also contains multiple charts, cards, and rulers that can be easily prepared for student use.
Reviews offer your child additional practice for the daily lesson as well as a review of previously covered material. These reviews can also be used as an assessment tool to measure how well the information is being retained.
The course includes a total of 21 tests for a formal assessment of how well your child is mastering each chapter’s content.
